For an established international industrial group active in highly technical and regulated environments, Mentorprise is looking for an entrepreneurial, commercially driven and highly autonomous Managing Director Belgium.
The organisation has significant international industrial and technological capabilities and is pursuing further growth in the Belgian market, particularly within the evolving energy and industrial landscape.
This is a senior, entrepreneurial mandate for someone who combines business development and market-building capabilities with strong credibility across industry, energy and senior institutional stakeholders. Rather than stepping into a traditional Managing Director position within a mature local organisation, you will have the opportunity to shape and develop the Belgian activities, build strategic relationships and convert market opportunities into sustainable business growth.
The role of Managing Director
As Managing Director Belgium, you will act as the organisation’s senior representative in the Belgian market and take ownership of its further development. You will operate at the intersection of business, industry, energy and government, combining long-term strategic positioning with hands-on business development. Your key responsibilities will include:
- developing and executing the Belgian market and growth strategy
- identifying, qualifying and developing strategic and commercial opportunities
- building senior relationships across the energy, industrial, governmental and institutional ecosystem
- developing relationships with key decision-makers at federal and regional level
- positioning the organisation as a credible long-term industrial and technological partner
- identifying and developing strategic partnerships and other routes to market
- translating political, regulatory, energy and industrial developments into concrete business opportunities
- representing the organisation in high-level commercial, industrial and institutional discussions
- taking ownership of opportunities from initial positioning and relationship-building through to tangible commercial development
- progressively contributing to the further development of the Belgian activities and organisation
Who do we look for?
We are looking for a senior business leader, Managing Director or highly accomplished business developer who combines commercial drive with the credibility and maturity required to operate in a complex stakeholder environment. You:
- bring substantial professional experience within energy (nuclear), utilities, industrial technology, infrastructure or a closely related environment
- have a proven track record in business development, market development or the creation of strategic commercial opportunities
- understand the Belgian political and institutional ecosystem and how decisions are shaped across government, public institutions and industry
- bring a relevant senior network or have demonstrated the ability to rapidly build credibility with key stakeholders
- combine commercial drive with political and institutional sensitivity
- are comfortable engaging with senior corporate, governmental and institutional decision-makers
- are entrepreneurial and motivated by a build-and-grow mandate, rather than purely managing an established organisation
- combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and are willing to personally open doors and drive opportunities forward
- are comfortable operating with significant autonomy and taking personal ownership of results
- are pragmatic, resilient and persistent, with the ability to develop opportunities that require a long-term perspective
- have strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills
- have an excellent command of Dutch, French and English
